We received a couple of inches of snow between the Carson Pass and Kirkwood from yesterday’s system. The system has cleared out and conditions will be clear with a warming trend heading toward the weekend. Winds will pick up late Saturday and Sunday prior to the arrival of a cold front with a fair amount of moisture in it. Temperatures will cool rapidly on Monday with highs in the upper 20’s for sierra valley’s and lows in the upper teens to low 20’s. As far as snowfall, best estimate right now is 12-18 inches over the sierra crest by Tuesday. Make sure everything is winterized by this Saturday as no doubt it will be cold. Look for snow levels to start out at about 7000 feet and lower to 5000 on Monday. There is a chance of flurries as low as the Carson Valley on Monday.
